Responsible Growth and Accountability...

LOCAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • I have a desire to help Fillmore remain the “last, best, small town in Southern California ”. I have been working with Citizens for Responsible Growth to restore our city to a reasonable, responsible and sustainable level of growth.

  • I am working on reducing the Grimes Canyon truck traffic to protect citizens from traffic and air pollution.

  • I have worked hard to successfully reduce graffiti in our neighborhood.

  • As president of two different homeowners associations I restructured the budgets and created 20 year reserve plans to pay for capital improvements.

  • Recently appointed to APCD advisory board

I was born and raised in Ventura County and moved to Fillmore in 1978. My twenty year career with Texaco in the Ventura area included oilfield operations in Santa Paula and Fillmore. I was later transferred to Denver and worked in the Reservoir Engineering studying reserves and enhanced oil recovery where I gained the technical expertise to start my own business in Colorado (EZPC Computer Consulting). I also helped my husband manage his HVAC business.

I've decided to run for City Council because I'm concerned about the direction this city is going. The increased growth that has occurred the last couple of years has been disturbing – particularly growth in traffic and smog. It is clear that the community wants to maintain the small town, family friendly character of Fillmore and the City government does not.

I know that you care about Fillmore as much as I do and I promise to do my best to maintain the small town, family friendly character that we believe in.
